City and Color

If you haven't heard City and Color yet, you need to! I went with Alexis and some other friends to see them play at Slim's. It was a great show!

Adam and Carrie Poytress

I got to be a part of Carrie and Adam's wedding. The entire day was super fun, and it was the perfect wedding to kick off 2009! You can see more photos in the SLIDESHOW too.
Tango anyone?
The wedding was at the Rockwood Women's Center, which is a really cool spot. We took some shots before the wedding right on the edge of Rocky Nook Park.
So many funny stories!
Wedding wedgie? Haha. There are so many layers and parts to a wedding dress, and so many people help to get it on, that I'm surprised that this hasn't happened before :)

Carrie and Adam were cool with seeing each other before the wedding so that we could do all of the portraits before the ceremony and have less lag time before the reception. This is a cool way to do it if the other tradition of waiting to see each other at the alter is not your thing. They still made their first viewing special though.
Rockwood is just around the corner from the Santa Barbara Mission, so we jumped over there for some of the group shots.
There was a service going on, so this was the loudest inaudible noise I've ever heard.
They moved the ceremony inside because it was raining the day before. It ended up being a nice day despite the threat of ominous weather.

These shots were taken outside in the dark, but the available light made for some cool scenery.
I love Rockwood's space for a reception. It has a perfect set up for a dance party!

Janna works with Carrie and is a friend through Reality Carp. Her and her husband, Devin, are leaders in the youth group with my best friend Ryan. Here they are getting down at the reception!

Um, yeah... They used a sword for cutting the cake! They had cheesecke (my favorite) with serve your own toppings. So tasty!!
Filling the shopping cart:
Wow, right?

Carrie and Adam are an amazing couple! I was stoked to be there for such a fun day. I also love that they are in New Zealand kicking off their adventure together the right way :)

Obama!

I went to Civic Center to meet up with Mark, Joanna, and thousands of other people to watch Barack Obama become the first African-American President of the USA. All of the people there made a cool environment, but it would have been way cooler to watch it live from D.C. Go Obama!

Is Drinking Beer Art?

I went to the MOMA to check out Tom Marioni's performance art exhibit with some friends. The performance is titled, "The Act of Drinking Beer with Friends is the Highest Form of Art." Basically it is a random social mixer with free beer! Part of me was not sure about this "art," but at the same time, there were so many social outcomes that were apparent that I think Marioni is really onto something. Did I mention that there was free beer?

Novato Skatepark

I took a short break from the photo editing to get some exercise today at the Novato skatepark. I went with my new friend Mark from Denmark. I'm really out of shape!
We met Jeff, who was riding his bike when we got there. He let me take a few photos of him riding around.

This park has a few connected bowls that were really fun.
Look, it's me! I was SUPER into skateboarding growing up, and I still love it, but I can't bust tricks like I used to. I guess I'm getting old?

Bourbon

My friend and roommate, Kris, got his girlfriend the cutest puppy for Christmas. Her name is Bourbon. This little one bounces around the house with her floppy ears, and you can't help but smile.
Nobody was smiling when Bourbon mysteriously disappeared today. Kris had her in his room, when he dozed off. When he woke up, Bourbon was gone. He tore his room apart looking for her, but she was nowhere to be found. I had ran out the door to go to bible study, so I felt terrible thinking that maybe Bourbon snuck out the door with me, and just picked up outside by a stranger. Kris looked for her for 2 plus hours, and I looked for half an hour when I got home too. Still no Bourbon. Kris's girlfriend Alicia came over in tears after Kris had to call her and tell her that her beloved puppy went missing. Amidst the chaos, a small peep came from a closed dresser drawer, and Bourbon was found! Apparently, she had snuck into the drawer, and Kris closed it when he started ripping his room up. She didn't make any sounds for over 2 hours while we were calling her name and banking around looking for her. We were all very relieved that she was found.
I'll get some better pictures when I get a chance so that you can see how cute she is.

Crazy Stuff

I saw this car crash a little while ago at the top of my street. I can't figure out how this car even got there without hitting the other stuff on the sidewalk. CRAZY!
I was downtown the other day, and there were tons of riot cops everywhere in response to a rally over the unarmed guy who was shot on new years by a BART police officer. If you haven't heard anything about this, it is totally sad, and there is tons of stuff on youtube about this. Protests in SF were virtually non-existent compared to the stuff that has been going on in Oakland over the past week.

Crazy times in the bay area!

New Years!

My brother Mikey and his girlfriend, Ashley, came up to hang out in SF for a few days. We got to cruise around the city together. It was really cool because I don't get to hang out with Mikey that much.
Trevor and Ariel are friends from SB also, who came up to hang out in the city for new years.
Alexis, Laila, and their friend Sam.
Dang! This girl is smokin' hot!

This is Alexis' brother Adam, and his girlfriend Suzy. This party that we were at was at Suzy's house in the Haight.

Happy Birthday!

I hope you all had a good New Year!!
